US Marine Corps Network Communications Infrastructure Systems Upgrade

As the Prime contractor, IGS supported a Marine Corps Information Technology Center (MCITC) Network Infrastructure Modernization System upgrade in Kansas City, MO. This effort required IGS to engineer, furnish, install, secure, and test (EFIST) the expansion of MCITC’s Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) capability and upgrade the existing network communication architecture. IGS provided all ancillary components, site and facility preparation, labor, supporting equipment, software, firmware, licenses, and interfaces associated with these systems. Ultimately, with IGS’ support, the modernized systems and associated subsystems retained all functionality of the existing systems and gained additional functionality. IGS carefully mapped out a strategy for performing the work, executed the installation, and provided comprehensive documentation of the effort (including schematics, run sheets, and test results) so the customer could understand and administer the new infrastructure themselves. All work was performed in accordance with Department of Defense (DoD) Unified Capability requirements, Joint Interoperability Test Command Certification requirements, DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) for DoD information technology (IT), and all applicable Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Information Guides (STIGs).

General Services Administration (GSA) Design/Build Contract for the Installation of Fire Pumps and Fire Sprinklers and Replacement of the Fire Alarm System

IGS designed and installed new fire alarms, fire pumps, and sprinkler systems, with emergency back-up power, for a historic Federal building and U. S. Courthouse. This included providing original and pre-final design drawings, construction, implementation, and system acceptance testing for all fire alarms, fire pumps, and fire sprinklers. IGS also provided punch list, closeout, and warranty documents. Since this design/build renovation affected historic resources, it required consultation by GSA with the State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) and other consulting parties as defined by Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA).

The ARRA allotted $31 billion toward the modernization of Federal buildings around the country. The renovations at the Claude Pepper Federal Building were a result of the ARRA. IGS assisted with the interior renovation of ~28,700 square feet on the 3rd, 7th, & 8th floors. Work included demolition, new walls, interior finishes, millwork, doors and hardware, interior signage, asbestos abatement, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and access control.
